The district begins in Bastille and goes to Madeleine. These main trunk roads include the Opera Garnier, Galleries, theaters and shops selling luxury goods.
The boulevard of Capucines, the boulevard of the Italians and the avenue of the Opera meet on the Opera Garnier, one of the biggest operas of the world and which represents the Napoleon III style; as for the place,which was conceived by Haussmann who wished to highlight this magnificent building.
The district of Madeleine became the district of shops selling luxury goods, clothing or jewels, you will find any biggest names. The Place Vendôme also represents the luxury with the hotel Ritz and its luxury delicatessens.
The Big Boulevards were created in order of Louis XIV who wished wide public highways.
